  • Dave Sheridan was designated the 2008 Outstanding Engineering Alumnus of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Penn State.
    The Penn State Outstanding Engineering Alumni Awards recognize graduates who have reached exceptional levels of professional achievement. Established in 1966, the award is the highest honor bestowed by the College of Engineering.


  • David Sheridan collaborated with several other water quality professionals on a book that provides guidance to municipal wastewater treatment agencies in water-quality trading to meet environmental standards. A summary description of the book may be seen at this link. WQ trading may have particular value to wastewater treatment plants in the Susquehanna River basin in Pennsylvania, where PA DEP recently announced that extensive reductions in nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations of treated effluent will be required in NPDES permit renewals.

  • In October 2004, the board of directors of the Green Building Association of Central Pennsylvania appointed Dave Sheridan to be its executive director. GBACPA, an affiliate of the US Green Building Council, includes architects and engineers, contractors, and other professionals practicing in the green building area.
